Today has been an absolutely gorgeous day here in Vienna. It’s been sunny, almost no wind, and a nice 13 degrees. So we decided to go exploring a bit, and the choice fell on Stadtwanderweg 3.
It starts off in a park after you get off the 43 tram and walk up a steep hill to the left of the road. In the beginning we were walking straight along this alleyway for a good while, until we got tired of it and decided to head off on a side track up into the trees. It felt good to get out of the city for a while, and to see all the nice signs of spring in the forest. We saw a lot of cute little blue flowers, as well as green buds on the trees, and so on.. so forth. The forest is also full of birds now trying hard to hook up in time for summer hatchings. just magical. 😀
After a pretty steep uphill we reached the top, where there was a nice resting place with a field and an empty house. We looked at the map inside to decide where to go next. And decided to head down to Neustift am Walde and hop on the bus there. So many options…
Can definitely recommed this walk if you are keen to walk in HILLS. It is after all a luxury that is fairly rare here in Vienna. Our total elevation gain was only 210 metres, so I’d still call this a fairly easy walk. 🙂
