The new roller coaster looks amazingly cool! I know that I have to try it out at some point. It’s probably the most expensive ride in the park (except for some soeciality rides that only take 1 or 2 people at a time) at 8.50 per ride. But it looks fun!
Walking along the Alte Donau yesterday we were soaking up the sun and watching people get boats and bars ready for summer. I like coming here to swim in summer, but so does the rest of Vienna, so I usually end up in Lobau on the Danube island 🙂
Funny pun – is wurscht = it doesn’t matter (or just whatever)
For about 10 weeks I’ve been living in the first district, and prior to that I had only a vague idea of how confusing the streets here can be. It’s practically a maze. Getting to Kleines cafe from where I live on Fleischmarkt for example requires GPS walking if you’re not familiar with the area. What is nice about wandering around and potentially getting lost is the many cute alleys in the first. It’s like getting to know a whole new city. 🙂
Yesterday I made the most of the awesome weather and checked out one of the Stadtwanderwege that I so far have neglected.
Starting and ending in Stammersdorf, it has always seemed so far away. But the streets in this part of town are super cute.

There was some uphill walking, but less than the Kahlenberg walk. Wiews were found anyway. 🙂
The walk took me about 2 hours and 50 minutes at a leisurely pace. It’s approximately 10 kilometres.
It felt great to get out of the noisy city for a while. I’m not often out here in the north east, so there were new things to see for me.
And the downhill from the top was not very steep, at least not in many places.
I would definitely recommend this for a getaway on a nice day like yesterday. 🙂
Man I’m sick of this weather. It’s not even real weather, it’s just waiting to become weather. So what does one do? Screw it, go for a walk anyway!
So here are two pictures from a walk to Kahlenberg and down again today. Actually enjoyable, considering the company and the exercise. And the views. Which would have been better in any other weather. I correct myself: which would have been improved with the presence of weather.
Oh March…. You’re so much better in the southern hemisphere…
