This is one of my new favourite places to bring my visitors for some authentic Viennese coffeehouse action. The cake is amazing, and from what I have been told they know how to make coffee (difficult for me to judge as I don’t like coffee).
The style is comfy, with a touch of art deco in the chandeliers. It is possible to get a seat without a booking, but it could mean waiting. After over six years in Vienna I now have a great range of non touristy coffee houses to pick from. 🙂 Well. Four of them…..
Someone told me about this and I thought it brilliant. They actually put up a little stand in the shop. 😀 worth a visit at Spittelberg Christmas market
You gotta love a local market. Man I still miss this neighbourhood in the 3rd.
I want sushi. All the time. This outlet is new, so I thought I’d give it a go. They make everything fresh, no premade rolls in plastic in sight! At least not at this time of day.
Prices are very affordable.
And the rolls look good. Turned out they also taste great! Yum. I’ll definitely be coming back here!
At Beer Store Vienna they have a very wide selection of really amazing beer. I was pulled there by the promise of awesomeness today. It’s located in the 12th District, not far from the Meidling train station.
I will give then a small minus though. Even though the selection is AMAZING for Vienna, they are a bit on the expensive side. I can only make one direct comparison, which is the Gusswerk Nicobar IPA beer. This is one of my favourites, brewed by a Salzburg brewery. If you go to Merkur Hoher Markt, you can get a bottle of this for 1.79 Euro, whereas the beer store Vienna charges 2.39 Euro per bottle. Which is a whopping 60 Cents on the bottle…. that’s a bit too much for me, so I’ll continue to go to Merkur Hoher Markt to cover my immediate needs for quality beer.
I can recommend the beer store for those who want something quite specific, which cannot be found at Hoher Markt. Like I said, they have an AMAZING selection at the beer store. 🙂 If you are like me, soon out of a job and over educated, going on broke, perhaps you can stick to the beer specials at Billa. 😀
I love this open air food court that opens every summer. To me it’s as close as you get in Europe to my beloved food courts and bustling streets of Singapore, that seem to be open 24/7 all year.
