The tourist districts in the city centre are filling up to the max now for the Easter holiday. A taste of the months to come!
I like this archway – but it’s made so much cooler in the evening when the lights are shining on it!
Yesterday some people were doing strange things with rubber bands on the side of the gate, while two dudes were shouting at them to go faster! faster!
Hmm. Not quite my cup of tea… 😛 But they all looked like they had ‘fun’ working out.
This is the entrance to the Spanish riding school. According to their web site ( http://www.srs.at/en/): The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is the only institution in the world which has practiced for over 440 years and continues to cultivate classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the haute école.
The objective of classical equitation is to study the way the horse naturally moves and to cultivate the highest levels of haute école elegance the horse is capable of through systematic training. The result creates an unparalleled harmony between rider and horse, as only Vienna’s Spanish Riding School achieves.
This is the place where they trained Lipizzan horses, for those of you that know what that means.
