Today I made the season’s first visit to the Christmas market at Karlsplatz. The market here has a lot of art stuff and jewellery.
It also has some quirky stuff, like this home made, bicycle powered carousel. It’s really quite charming. 🙂
I was quite mesmerised by these lovely creatures of light that danced and moved around the market. They were so incredibly soothing.
I stalked them for quite a while. 😀
Stopped by Popfest today, hoping to catch some nice Austrian bands. The mood was good.
We didn’t end up staying very long, but I would recommend you to check it out if you’re in town tonight or tomorrow. 🙂
Went to check this out last night for the first time, turned out it was the last night!
The screen was at Karlsplatz, so we had a nice view while waiting for the dark.
We saw “To be or not to be” from 1942. It was very enjoyable!!
Makes you wonder what the chairs are for… xD
I wonder how they get these numbers. Is there a thing that counts cyclists as they ride past the sign? Hmm. Well, in any case looking forward to riding to work tomorrow. Biiiicycle! Biiiicycle!
Not sure if this is for the MI5 movie, but there was a crew with some impressive looking gear in front of Karlskirche earlier. Intriguing!
I was trying to take a photo of the strange yoga group at the side of the Karlskirche. I kind of didn’t succeed…
It’s fully finished now, with flashing lights in the floors, shops, fancy tiling and also totally void of fences that keep homeless people safe.
In front of Karlskirche is one of the many places that people gather on very hot days. I guess it’s just a nice place to hang out. There are also coffee trucks and I’ve cream trucks around the place, and if you get hot you can dip your feet in the pond!
I want to do this too. The way the bottles are lined up is quite ingenious! Collecting the water at the top of the chain, then passing it down through the other plants and finally it runs out at the bottom.
I’ve been very busy with my phd for the last four days, and have therefore neglected my blog. Sorry fellas! I’ll get back to it tomorrow, pronto!!
Sooo! I have been holding out for this one, and finally managed to go there yesterday. Finally! I like this little market, although it’s not so little anymore.. it’s one of the prettiest ones I think. For the occasion of the Christmas market they empty the lake and put carousels and pony rides there. How cute is that! 🙂
On a dark night. This church is nice no matter what time of day. 🙂
I hope you’re not sick of pictures from Christmasmarkets! At Karlsplatz, in front of Karlskirche they have the best crepes I’ve has this year! One of the prettiest xmasmarkets in town. 🙂 a few more pictures from it in the facebookpage.
