This is not one of my favourite markets, but if the need for Punsch is dire then you will also be able to satisfy your thirst at this market. It is located on either side of the bus lane between the Mall and the Village Cinema and Shopping Centre in the third district. As you can see, the middle of it is kept clear so that the buses may drive through.
Christmas decorations are also available here. The range of crafts is limited, as the market itself is really small.
There are also snacks and nice foods on sale.
So, there you have it, some impressions from Landstrasse. If you are somehow in a super hurry through town, and you’re only stopping at Wien Mitte on your way through, I would recommend this market to get some Christmas cheer. Well, otherwise I would recommend this as a passing through on the way home and wanting Punsch (when I lived there last year I found it excellent for this purpose). Otherwise, check out one of the other markets in town!
So, the time of Easter Markets has started. Last year I posted about the egg market at Freyung, and that is there this year as well. I’ll be popping in there next week sometime, when my dad comes to visit. 🙂
The market am Hof is nice, it’s small and has a section with tables in the middle where you can rest and eat some delicious local specialties. Local brews, wines, hams, cakes… the lot!
Who knew that there are so many types of vinegar in the World? Ok.. perhaps MOST people know that there exists many types of vinegar, come to think of it… A recent visit to Naschmarkt revealed a great place to go if you’re in the market for a very special type. Chances are, you can find it here!
Greetings from Vienna again! I’m still in Norway, but here is another impression from Vienna. 🙂
Sooo! I have been holding out for this one, and finally managed to go there yesterday. Finally! I like this little market, although it’s not so little anymore.. it’s one of the prettiest ones I think. For the occasion of the Christmas market they empty the lake and put carousels and pony rides there. How cute is that! 🙂
Today is was time for another Christmas market. We made our way to Belvedere, where we both managed to burn some cash, and marvel at the setting. Nothing largely special as a market, but still worth a visit 🙂
For the first time after they reconstructed Wien Mitte there is now a Christmas market there. Seeing as it’s now more or less a pedestrian area (only buses are allowed to drive through) They’ve made it up quite nicely. I like! 🙂
