It’s getting greener and slowly, but surely, it’s going towards the opening of this place again. I’ve never been there, but some say it’s nice. MOST I know however say it’s where the rich kids and wannabe celebs go to be seen, and seeing as I am on the bus all summer observing the people who get on the bus after being here, I can say that it seems to be true. But then that’s extremely subjective! 🙂
This is incidentally one of my favourite little bars along the canal.. only open when it’s warm. It’s totally relaxed/laid back. Can be found on the western side of the canal by the Franzensbrücke.
On the weekends, no cars are allowed to drive into prater. The area is for buses only, and pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, runners, dogs etc. No cars. Sometimes, they place several police cars in intersections, and round up all the cars that come past. Here you can see them in action in the intersection at Hauptallee and Stadion. 🙂
I’m spending a lot of time on Donauinsel these days. It’s nice to see that spring is slowly coming, even if Winter is reluctant to let go of its hold. There is a field close to U6 on the island where a lot of kiters usually hang out. Some practise for kitesurfing, some just like to kite around on their rollerblades, and some just like to fly kites. Now slowly they are coming out of the woodworks, even if there have been some brave souls out there on cold winter days too!
