So, for the last five days now, Vienna has put on the shittest weather imaginable to man. It’s been drizzling every day, grey, dark, and also in my case close to zero visibility as I work up in the clouds. I go to work in the morning when it’s still sort of dark, and I return when it’s dark, and this is all I ever see. So, forgive me if I’m sharing a bit too many of other magnificent people’s posts these days… because Vienna just isn’t a very nice place right now!! I will however bite the bullet and go outside with my camera this evening. I shall go to the Christmas market at Karlsplatz, and I shall take some nice (albeit rainy) photos for you to enjoy. So there!
Inside it’s been pretty ok. We’ve been spending time with great people, we’ve gone shopping a bit, we’ve had good food, played board games, and lit lots of candles to make things nice. And – decorated the Christmas tree in the office!
This guy, and many before him totally trust that they weren’t going to get shat on by the pigeons.. I don’t have that level of trust.
It may be a tiny sign, but it made an impression
I snapped this picture about three years ago, but I still crack up thinking about it every now and then when I see dogshit (which is, let’s face it, far too often). It says Vienna = Dog toilet. I’ve seen all the signs up that you can get fined for not cleaning up your dog’s mess, but I’ve always wondered WHO(???!?!?) enforces this? It would give me so much satisfaction to see someone get fined for not picking up their dog’s crap.
It’s your dog, dude! It’s also your crap!! Get your shit together!
So, this is also a common consequence of dog-loving Viennese. Not often you see it right in the middle of the subway though. I got a mental image of a little person slipping in it…like that person on the sign… and cracked up. Well, thought I’d share it as today’s picture. 🙂
