Busy days now before Christmas! Just uploading this shot which shows my view from Kahlenberg when teaching this morning. 🙂
So yeah, working really hard these days – so here is a photo from my office view (again.. I know!)
Tomorrow is my final 11 hour Thursday, which I’m looking forward to! Getting home at 8pm after having left for work at 7pm is always really brutal to me, so my course finishing tomorrow will definitely lighten my load a bit!!
On Donauinsel there are many areas where barbecuing is allowed (link with map). We got ourselves a disposable BBQ and made our way there this weekend. We normally go to the area that’s just by the wakeboard lift, just because of habit I suppose, but it’s also nice and chilled out. And has a public toilet.
Our trusty bbq:
I also liked the more ‘deep sea’ creatures – although I have a suspicion that this shrimp does not really belong to the deep sea. I could be wrong. It’s a zebra-mantis shrimp.. or something like that.
It was a bit steep to go in.. a normal adult ticket is 14,90 Euro, but with concession it was 11,30 (I think, I was lucky enough to get sponsored today by my dad). I’d recommend it though, but try to make it a day when school is ON (not on the holidays). There is also a really nice cafe at the top, with the best view of Vienna.
Looking north on Alte Donau you can see just how dreary and grey the city has been in the last couple of weeks. At least we’ve survived January, only two more months left of winter! The birds are making the most of the sheet of ice that’s covering part of the water, I suppose we should take a leaf out of their book.
